Babes Wodumo has asked her fans to vote for her to bring home the Best Female Southern Africa Artist Award at the AFRIMMA’s.
Gqom artist Babes Wodumo (real name Bongekile Simelane) has been nominated for the Best Female Southern Africa artist award at the upcoming African Muzik Magazine Awards and Music Festival (AFRIMMA). Wodumo has taken to social media to ask her fans to vote for her win.
Wodumo tweeted, “Look at God 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. I’ve been nominated in the Best Female Southern Africa category at the AFRIMMA 2018. Please help me bring this one home. To vote please visit http://afrimma.com/2018-nominees/ , find the category Best Female Southern Africa – select Babes Wodumo and click VOTE.” A few of Wodumo’s followers later shared screen grabs of their vote selections in response to her plea.
The AFRIMMA 2018 ceremony will take place on 7 October in Dallas, Texas. The ceremony, which is now in its fifth year, is aimed at celebrating the beauty of African music and culture. Artists from Tanzania, South Africa, Egypt, Congo, Senegal, Zambia, Ghana, Togo, Algeria, Uganda, Kenya, Botswana and all parts of Africa, will be celebrated at the awards ceremony. Wodumo’s competition in the Best Female Southern Africa category are Ammara Brown and Shashl from Zimbabwe, Mampi and Ice Queen Cleo from Zambia, Sally Boss Madam from Namibia and; Busiswa, Shekinah, Lady Zamar and Bucie, who all hail from South Africa.
