Aveng Limited appoints new independent non-executive director

Aveng Limited has announced the appointment of Bernard Swanepoel as its new independent non-executive director to the board, with an executive career spanning over 40 years.

Aveng Limited announced the appointment of a new director on Wednesday, 20 October 2021. Aveng Limited informed its shareholders of the appointment of Bernard Swanepoel as an independent non-executive director to the board, with effect from the same day.

In addition to that, Aveng also announced his appointment to the Risk Committee, Safety, Health and Environment Committee and the Investment Committee. Swanepoel has been noted by the group to have over 40 years of experience in the South African mining industry, with over 25 years being served in executive management roles.

He has also been described as being a qualified mining engineer with a BCom Honours degree in Financial Management. He was the chief executive officer for the prominent company, Harmony Gold Mining, and served on the board of Sanlam Limited as well as the board of African Rainbow Minerals Limited. Aveng Limited has welcomed Swanepoel.
