The ATM has come to the defence of Advocate Amanda Ledwaba by calling on Minister Aaron Motsoaledi to intervene and revoke her suspension for “simply doing her job.”
The African Transformation Movement (ATM) took to Twitter on Monday, 28 September 2020, to circulate a statement asking Minister of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi to intervene in the Advocate Amanda Ledwaba saga. Ledwaba is said to have been suspended after sharing a report that alleged that there are fraudulent officials on the government’s payroll.
Moreover, the matter piqued the interest of social media users when it was discovered that the report also claimed that foreign nationals were amongst those on the payroll. In particular, the statement highlighted Kebone Masange. Masange is alleged to have fraudulently obtained his identity document, and eventually became the Mpumalanga province’s Head of Human Settlements.
The ATM is now calling on Motsoaledi to revoke Ledwaba’s suspension. Additionally, the party said she should be commended for fulfilling her job and exposing corruption in the department.
