AngloGold Ashanti appoints Lisa Ali as new CPO

AngloGold Ashanti Limited has appointed its new Chief People Officer, Lisa Ali, who is set to join the company from Newcrest Mining, boasting more than 30 years of experience.

AngloGold Ashanti Limited issued a statement on Friday, 5 November 2021, announcing the appointment of Lisa Ali as its new Chief People Officer (CPO), to be effective from 2 April 2022. Lisa is said to be joining AngloGold from Newcrest Mining, where she is currently serving as the Chief People and Sustainability Officer.

The company stated that Ali has over 30 years of experience, with most of it being in extractive industries, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry. She also has an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration, having worked in countries such as Latin America and the United Kingdom, amongst others.

In response to the company’s new appointment, Chief Executive Officer for AngloGold, Alberto Calderon stated, “This is another key addition to our leadership team which remains absolutely focused on ensuring we have the best talent to improve sustainability, operating performance, and project delivery.”
