ANC to take action against Niehaus for latest conduct

Published on

The ANC has called out MK veteran, Carl Niehaus, condemning his behaviour towards the ruling party as being a complete disregard of Ramaphosa’s administration.

The African National Congress (ANC) issued a statement on Thursday, 9 September 2021, condemning uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) veteran, Carl Niehaus’s behaviour, calling it ill-disciplined and counter-revolutionary. The ruling party expressed its dismay at what it has referred to as Niehaus’ ongoing divisive, opportunistic and anti-ANC behaviour.

The party noted Niehaus’ latest personal statement, claiming to be made on behalf of the ANC staff, announcing that he would be laying criminal charges regarding the salary matter. The ANC also confirmed that after interacting with staff representatives, it found that Niehaus did not represent them or hold the mandate to act on their behalf.

It further expressed that his behaviour and utterances have been consistently undermining and disrespecting of the ANC National Conference leadership under President Cyril Ramaphosa. Moreover, it will be taking appropriate action against Niehaus for his latest conduct in trying to bring the ANC into disrepute.
