The ANC has organised two rallies this week to showcase its support for the people of Palestine, following the recent unrest against Israel.
The African National Congress (ANC) took to Twitter on Sunday, 23 May 2021, to confirm the dates for its scheduled rallies in solidarity with the people of Palestine. The rallies come on the back of President Cyril Ramaphosa categorically pledging the country’s support for Palestine in the unrest between Palestinians and Israelis.
In the past week, the world watched as the violent attacks between the two states resurged. This happened after Palestinians allegedly launched an air raid on Israeli towns when they were observing Ramadan. The violent unrest lasted until this weekend, when it was reported that both states agreed to a ceasefire.
The ruling party has scheduled a rally for Tuesday, 25 May 2021, in Lynwood, Tshwane at the 248 King’s Highway from 10:00 until 14:00. The second rally is set to take place on Wednesday, 26 May 2021, at the American Consulate in Sandhurst, Johannesburg from 10:00 until 12:00.
