ANC enlists Magashule and Bongo for by-elections activations

Published on

The ANC revealed that at the weekend, Ace Magashule and Bongani Bongo were amongst those canvassing for votes ahead of the by-elections in Nkomazi, ward 15.

The African National Congress (ANC) took to Twitter on Saturday, 28 November 2020, to reveal that it has begun canvassing for votes for the upcoming by-elections. On the day, the ANC enlisted members of its National Executive Committee (NEC) to spearhead the activation, amongst them were Ace Magashule and Bongani Bongo.

Magashule and Bongo have been under much scrutiny in recent months, with both of them facing corruption allegations. Moreover, they not only have corruption allegations levelled against them, but also imminent court appearances that they both need to make relating to the allegations.

The decision to have the two represent the party in Nkomazi proves that they have the backing of the ANC. This is despite the ruling party having previously stated that should a political figure face corruption allegations, they should step down from office.
