ActionSA’s Moseki has informed that the party will be writing to the Speaker of Council, demanding answers on why Masina was not investigated for alleged drunk driving.
Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate for ActionSA, Tlhogi Moseki issued a statement on Friday, 1 October 2021, informing that the party will be writing to the Speaker of Council in Ekurhuleni, Alderman Patricia Kumalo, demanding answers on why the council’s Ethic Committee did not investigate Mayor Masina on alleged drunk driving. ActionSA noted that Masina was allegedly involved in a high-speed vehicle accident in August 2020, whereby the truck driver involved alleged that the mayor appeared drunk on the scene.
Moseki also mentioned how over a year had passed and nothing had been done. Moseki alleged that according to an investigation by amaBhungane, the metro police allowed Masina to escape the accident scene whilst it was still under investigation, which the mayoral candidate believes was a way to shield Masina from accountability to cover up his alleged misconduct.
See the post below.
"Metro police allowed Masina to escape the scene of the incident; no doubt in a bid to shield him from accountability.
It has been over 13 months since the incident with no further investigation from the police nor any mention of the matter from Council"https://t.co/acN5PyHgZ5
