ActionSA demands Williams attend to Tshwane’s billing crisis

ActionSA is calling for the DA-led City of Tshwane to urgently address the billing crisis currently being experienced by residents, and for Mayor Williams to draft a plan.

On Tuesday, 7 September 2021, ActionSA’s Tshwane Media Manager, Nkele Molapo issued a statement by the party’s Tshwane Mayoral Candidate, Abel Tau, regarding the Tshwane billing crisis. ActionSA emphasised that it would not be bullied into silence.

Tau made it clear that ActionSA will not tolerate intimidation by the Democratic Alliance (DA)-led city. According to the party, the City of Tshwane is trying to silence its leader, Herman Mashaba, using its flawed billing system as a weapon. ActionSA claims the city issued the Herman and Connie Family Trust with an R8 000 water bill for a property occupied by one person for undrinkable water in Hammanskraal.

Tau further noted that ActionSA is demanding that Mayor Randall Williams take residents into his confidence and draft a plan for addressing the billing concerns in the City as Tshwane. According to ActionSA, the mayor continues to ignore its residents in light of the billing system crisis.
