ActionSA calls for investigation into Thandi Theledi’s role in Bushiri saga
Herman Mashaba’s ActionSA is demanding a full investigation into Thandi Theledi’s handling of the bail hearing of the Bushiris, who have reportedly left the country.
Leader of ActionSA, Herman Mashaba hosted a press conference on Wednesday, 18 November 2020, where he detailed his suspicions about Magistrate Thandi Theledi’s role in the Bushiri case. Theledi is the magistrate who granted self-proclaimed prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, and his wife, Mary Bushiri, bail.
Since the two reportedly escaped to their country of origin, Malawi, there have been multiple fingers pointed at possible people or entities who are to blame for the escape. Recently, even the Home Affairs Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi had to account for the escape before Parliament.
Mashaba has since added another dimension to the speculations, as he suggested that Theledi could be implicated in the grand escape. This is after Mashaba alleged that Theledi is a member of Bushiri’s congregation, and indirectly provided him with an opportunity to escape when she granted him bail. Therefore, ActionSA will write to the Judicial Service Commission to investigate Theledi.
