The ACDP is amongst the political parties that have publicly expressed their support for Israel, in light of the violent attacks between Palestine and Israel.
The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) took to Twitter on Monday, 17 May 2021, to state its stance on the matter of the ongoing violent unrest between Palestine and Israel. The latest spark of renewed bombing and violence was reportedly due to Palestinians allegedly launching air strikes on Israeli towns as they observed the month of Ramadan.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has already made its stance on the matter clear. EFF Commissar, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi affirmed his support for Palestine. Moreover, President Cyril Ramaphosa, despite calling for peaceful negotiations, made it clear that the government has pledged its support for Palestine.
Therefore, the stance of the ACDP differs from the one shared by the aforementioned parties. The ACDP has rallied behind Israel, as noted in a tweet which stated, “Every sovereign state has the right to defend itself against attack. This right extends to Israel.”
See the post below.
Every sovereign state has the right to defend itself against attack.
This right extends to Israel.
We are also pleased to see Arab countries that signed the Abraham Accords with Israel, such as the UAE, support Israel exercising its right during the current conflict.— ACDP South Africa (@A_C_D_P) May 17, 2021
