The ACDP is looking to Minister Zweli Mkhize to address the suggestions that face masks may be more harmful than protective against COVID-19.
The African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) took to Twitter on Monday, 22 February 2021, to call on the Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize to address the rising concerns and reports that face masks are more harmful than protective.
The ACDP has always been concerned with health matters, therefore, the party quoted a tweet which stated, “How face masks increase COVID-19 risks: Nebulization may ‘result in viral particles lingering longer and traveling farther in airspace from a masked person than exhaled respiratory droplets falling close to the body from the orifices of an unmasked person.’”
The political party then added its own research whilst sharing the aforementioned information. The post concluded with the party calling on Mkhize to debunk the information put forward. However, the party has not suggested a recommended alternative to face masks.
