Justin was devastated by tragic news while the inmates suffered under Liefie’s new law
The latest episode of 7de Laan saw Justin open up to Vanessa after receiving shocking news from the hospital. Meanwhile, the inmates took their revenge on warden Monika.
Here is a brief rundown of all that happened:
Fikani delivered devasting news to Justin and Amanda. He told them that baby Jasmine had passed due to smoke inhalation.
The inmates suffered under Liefie’s new set of strict rules. Emma pleaded for mercy, but Liefie was unrelenting.
Justin sought comfort from Vince. Vince reassured him that he would have been the best father he could have if Jasmine had survived.
Vanessa awoke to find herself on Xander’s couch. Xander prepared breakfast for her, but just then she received a distressed call from Justin.
Vanessa comforted Justin over his loss.
Amanda returned to the prison. Liefie offered her a single cell, but she opted to be locked in with the rest of the Hillside bunch. There, she confronted Bonita about because the executor of her baby’s death. Mariaan was deeply upset by news of the baby’s death.
Vanessa told Charmaine about Justin’s ordeal. She also confessed that she had spent the night at Xander’s. Charmaine warned her against getting too close to her ex-husband.
Vivian went mad with worry over Lips’ condition. She sang a nursery rhyme to herself. Liefie then made the whole cell join in with the sing-song.
Nozi professed her crush on Fikani to Olivia. Meanwhile, Olivia and Rickus’ plan worked out perfectly as Deiderick prepared dinner for them and even promised to wash the dishes afterward.
Emma manipulated Liefie into believing that she desired to be in relationship post her parole. Emma then pulled Liefie into the jail cell and the other inmates sprang to action. They tormented Lieife and her fellow guard from outside the cell.

Technical analysis
The writers certainly upped the stakes by having the inmates triumph over the prison guards. It should be an interesting watch to see where these characters will go from here on.
