Alexa ruined Chris and Mariaan’s plan and Charmaine rallied the Oppiekoffie customers to Donate for Daniel
Last night’s episode of 7de Laan saw the Welman’s plan to get rid of Justin collapse. Viewers will be waiting expectantly for what will follow.
Here is an overview of what happened:
After Chris attacked Justin, Alexa unexpectedly arrived home. Mariaan lied and said that Justin fainted and hit his head. Alexa called an ambulance.
Later on, when Alexa questioned Mariaan again she made up an elaborate lie about why Justin had come to see her. Alexa was sceptical about how he had been injured.
In support of Xander, Bonita and baby Daniel, the Bruynwaves team elected to run a campaign called #Donate for Daniel. Charmaine soldiered her Oppiekoffie customers behind the initiative. However, Xander realised that Karmen may be a match and took her to the hospital for blood tests without consulting Vanessa.
Esti began to worry about Marko and Emma. Matrone reassured her of Marko’s love and dedication to her.
Olivia moved in with Rickus and Diederick.
Lesedi warned Chris and Mariaan to stay away from Justin. She also reminded them that Mariaan would soon be arrested.
Chris told Mariaan that she must flee the country to escape arrest. He devised a plan for her to say goodbye to her children without raising suspicions.

Technical analysis
After all the dramatic build up leading towards Chris attacking Justin is seems like somewhat of a cop out to suddenly foil that plot. Starting the episode this way was anti-climactic and slightly disappointing.
Fans will surely be vying for Chris and Mariaan to be caught by authorities before fleeing to England, but this seems unlikely seeing that 7de Laan scripters stick so closely to standard soap opera models.
