The disbanded girl group 2NE1’s music video for their hit ‘I Am The Best (Hangeul: 내가 제일 잘 나가)’, surpassed 200 million views on YouTube on Sunday, 4 March (5 March, Korean time). It is 2NE1’s first MV to hit such a number.
Released back in 2011, the song was well received not only in 2NE1’s homeland, South Korea, but worldwide as well, winning also a number of awards, including ‘Song of the Year’ award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. In 2011, the girl group performed in New York City and won the title ‘Best New Band’ in the world, their first US award.
The new number of views might be thanks to the amazing show at the closing ceremony of Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Games put on by former member, CL. At the event she choose to sing her hit song ‘The Baddest Female’ (나쁜 기집애) and ‘I Am The Best’. She was trending for days on social media, with people all around the world searching for other songs by CL and 2NE1.
